GOOD + Facebook
07/20/2010
GOOD worked with Tanner to establish a creative and unique approach to building up their fanbase on Facebook.
Because Facebook requires you to become a fan of a group or organization before you can “Like” any of their wall posts or content, GOOD launched a contest where existing fans shared a photo, video, or comment related to their daily commute on the GOOD Facebook page . Fans were then asked to invite their friends and family to vote for a specific comment, photo, or video, essentially building the number of fans of GOOD on Facebook. At the end of the contest period the comment, photo, or video post with the most “Likes” received a free subscription to GOOD magazine.
Immediately after the initial contest period, GOOD began to see an increase in the number of people not only becoming fans of their Facebook page, but also interacting with the community through it. By working with Tanner GOOD was not only able to build up their fanbase, but they also gained a social marketing strategy that is both effective and creative.
